Thursday, September 11th, 2003: The Horseshoe Tavern
Last Thursday saw The Daybreak take their live show to The Horseshoe Tavern for the sixth time. The band was coming off a strong outdoor show to a massive crowd and looked happily to the opportunity to bring the same energy to a smaller venue.
The set opened with "Keep Breathing", not heard in several months, but clearly a song which continues to retain strong support while eliciting passionate responses from fans. The band then moved into the heavily groove-based "Twice as High as the Sun" and followed that up with "This Is Love". "Hindsight" was especially moving on this night, the epic-style chorus resonanting with many in the crowd. "Shuffle", the penultimate song, proved too catchy not to dance to, and "Don't Be Long" left the stage and crowd in a state of chaos.
The set was extremely well received, with many heralding it as one of the bands very best. The growing improvement of the group was evident this night as The Daybreak truly played together, feeding and feasting off the energy and emotions of each other and the audience. Many thanks go to Craig for the show, Kip for the great sound and to everyone who came out to support the team - especially those of you in the front row. Cheers!
